It's a bit of an obvious one, but making a purchase from us, in store or online, is helping put money in our reserves so we can keep delivering opportunities and services for artists and creative activity in Torbay. We charge some of the lowest commissions in the sector and don't pass on transaction fees to artists meaning when you make a purchase from us, you're making a difference to independent creatives and small businesses. And we have things for every budget, whether it's just a greetings card and a cup of coffee in our café, an original browser work, or a statement piece of wall art or sculpture. OPEN CALL for KINections Creative Practice Support – a professional development project for Torbay based artists ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY  This is a professional development opportunity for Torbay based artists to receive Creative Practice Support . Including a five-module business and sustainable practice course and wider supportive peer group and network opportunities, participants will be guided in developing their artistic career. Who is the opportunity for? Emerging visual artists based in Torbay or those making a *step-change in how they approach their practice OR any visual artist who believes their circumstances mean they would benefit from mentorship *By emerging artists we mean artists who are in the early stages of their career/development (this includes recent graduates, those returning to making art after a break, and those whose development has been hampered by life circumstances or lack of resources). **By step-change in practice approach we mean anyone making a significant change in how they work as a creative (this includes anyone who may be transitioning from part time to full time practice; change of focus, for example looking to incorporate new income streams). What is on offer for participants?  The opportunity to participate in a skills development programme as well access additional network and peer support activities. Opportunities to share and show your art work individually and as part of a group. Other networking and professional development opportunities. The aim of the programme is to increase the sustainability and resilience of your practice, help you explore new opportunities, and better understand how to get the most from your work. Funding and Costs The project is funded by Arts Council England, The Fenton Trust and CAMP so that it is FREE to participants. This funding is equivalent to £1400 support per artist. There is a small budget available to help participants pay for costs of travel to-and-from in person sessions. Participants in the project will receive FREE CAMP Membership up to the end of 2026. Located in the newly adapted Stable Block, these rotating artist and maker fairs feature a curated selection of printmakers, leather workers, jewellery makers, mosaic artists, wire sculptors, ceramicists, traditional painters and much more. Running throughout May, the Maker Takeovers provide a changing line-up of makers every few days, ensuring something new to discover each visit. Visitors can meet the artists, watch live demonstrations, and purchase unique handmade works directly from the creators. Nestled in the picturesque Stable Courtyard, the Maker Takeovers are an exciting new addition to this much-loved arts event. Delamore Arts X Artizan Collective Call for Makers, Artist and Artisans Artizan Collective and Delamore Arts are seeking applications from artists and makers to take on stalls in our small “Maker Pop-ups” space, part of the new Delamore Arts Courtyard programme. This is a selective call to which we are inviting applications. For full opportunity details and terms and conditions, please review the call document here . Last Few Spaces Remaining Overview Delamore Delamore arts is an annual month-long exhibition that has been running successfully for just over 20 years. It attracts artists and visitors from across the UK with all works selected by a panel of judges to ensure and maintain a high standard of work. Whilst its focus initially was on sculptural works that are placed within the grounds and the house, 2D works have become an important part of the offer and adorn the walls in the main house salon style to compliment a supporting collection of interior 3D works. Delamore regularly sees repeat visitors for whom this event is part of their arts calendar and many of those visitors come with the intent to buy. There is a café on site so most visitors will spend several hours and fully explore all that is on offer. Proceeds from the exhibition support a designated charity that is selected each year by Delamore. Artizan For the month of May, we move to Delamore Estate and support this fantastic annual showcase with our own curated offer. Contemporary British Printmakers and The Kiln Room will provide two unique exhibition additions to this year’s programme, with the rest of the courtyard spaces being used to develop new programming offers including workshops, demonstrations and maker takeovers. Maker Takeovers Offer The Stalls is a new offering that will sit alongside the already successful programming that has run from this section of Delamore Arts for several years. In this new space we are offering fair style stands for individual makers and artists to take on for mid-week and weekend blocks. Each stall is self-contained and can be setup with your own exhibition and display equipment, with electricity provided and general lighting of the block. Artizan Women’s Open The Artizan Women’s Open Exhibition has become an established feature of our programme, providing an annual platform to celebrate and amplify the voices of women in the arts. Each year, we continue to reflect on themes of visibility, recognition, and equity, inviting women artists to share their diverse perspectives and talents. For 2025, we’re delighted to once again host this vibrant exhibition at our Fleet Walk venue, showcasing a range of works across disciplines and styles. We anticipate participation from 30 to 40 artists, with each contributor invited to submit up to four pieces. Launching on International Women’s Day , this year’s exhibition will further our commitment to addressing the challenges women face in the art world while celebrating their incredible contributions. As we prepare for this year’s exhibition, it’s essential to acknowledge the wider contexts shaping gender conversations globally. Recent shifts in reproductive rights legislation in the United States have reignited debates about bodily autonomy and the control women have over their own futures. Meanwhile, the #MeToo movement continues to reveal systemic issues of harassment and inequity across creative industries, calling for deeper cultural shifts and accountability. And the recent legal ruling allowing the "Ladies Lounge" exhibit at Tasmania’s Museum of Old and New Art (Mona) to reopen highlights the power of art to challenge and provoke conversations about historic exclusions and contemporary equity. Against this backdrop, we continue to offer the Women’s Open Exhibition as an inclusive, celebratory platform that uplifts women’s perspectives, fosters dialogue, and highlights the enduring value of their contributions to the arts. Interested participants should fill out the simple submission form by 21st February. There is a £15 submission fee with 35% commission taken on sales. For the Love of Seagrass was an open conversation hosted by Gill Melling as part of the Geopark Artist Residency Programme. The below recording is an audio record of the conversation. About Gill's Residency Cultural Entanglements in Marine Environments Artist Gill Melling continues her exploration of the human impact and reliance on marine biodiversity, through the lens of communities and environments of the English Riviera UNESCO Global Geopark. Her resultant residency art series will evolve through local conversations and observations, creating mixed media “entanglements” combining reclaimed, “natural” and human processed materials. The Geopark designation offers a unique canvas, drawing together a geography that includes Marine Conservation Zones with their precious seagrass beds, that must share space with a fishing heritage that includes one of the largest fisheries in the country, a leisure industry, and local residents, all reliant on these same natural resources. All of this against a backdrop of UN Sustainable Development Goals that the world as a whole struggles to achieve, and a global ecosystem dependent on local conservation. About the Geopark Residency Programme The Geopark Artist Residency programme is a series of artist residencies delivered by Artizan Collective in partnership with Torre Abbey and the English Riviera UNESCO Global Geopark, that aims to reveal narratives about our Geopark home through the creation of four new collections of work produced by Devon based visual artists and creative professionals. We're pleased to be working with Delamore Arts for a second year in 2025 as we expand our supporting programme as part of South Devon's best loved annual arts event. We've got several ways for artists to get involved, so we wanted to pull together the various details of all the calls and opportunities into one place. View the summaries below! Delamore Arts Opportunities 2025 Contemporary British Printmakers We ran this exhibition for the first time with Delamore in 2024 and it was an absolute hit with their audiences. Celebrating all things print, this is about showcasing the diversity of original printmaking practice, and inviting audiences to discover the unique collectability of this area of the art market. Delamore Arts X Artizan Collective Call for Workshop Proposals Artizan Collective and Delamore Arts are seeking proposals from artists and workshop delivers to activate their newest creative space, The Old Workshop. This is a selective call to which we are inviting proposals from which we will then curate a rounded programme of activity. Delamore regularly sees repeat visitors for whom this event is part of their arts calendar and many of those visitors come with the intent to buy. There is a café on site so most visitors will spend several hours and fully explore all that is on offer. Proceeds from the exhibition support a designated charity that is selected each year by Delamore. Artizan For the month of May, we move to Delamore Estate and support this fantastic annual showcase with our own curated offer. Contemporary British Printmakers and The Kiln Room will provide two unique exhibition additions to this year’s programme, with the rest of the courtyard spaces being used to develop new programming offers including workshops, demonstrations and maker takeovers. The Old Workshop 2025 Offer The Old Workshop is a new offering that will sit alongside the second year of Contemporary British Printmakers and follows on from the success and popularity of demonstrations and ‘have a go’ sessions that were run as part of this during 2024. Now with a dedicated separate space for such activity, we are hoping to curate a mix of half day, whole day, multi day, and drop-in activity across the full month, for audiences to get involved with, and we are seeking proposals from artists and groups to deliver to a captive arts audience. This is a selective call that will appoint a maximum of 25 artists who represent a broad spectrum of the printmaking practice. Contemporary British Printmakers takes over one of the two stable block galleries, a charming white walled stable conversion set in a small courtyard with other neighbouring arts offers. This will be our second year collaborating with Delamore after a successful showcase in 2024 which introduced audiences to a full spectrum of the medium including everything from mezzotint to mokulito to monotype. This year we’ll also be looking to expand the popular programme of demonstrations and “have a go” sessions that we ran. Contemporary British Printmakers Offer We are offering the opportunity to participate in a fully stewarded, curated and marketed printmakers exhibition, hosted by Delamore Arts and produced by Artizan Collective CIC. This exhibition will also then tour back to the Artizan Printmaking and Sculpture Gallery for their Summer season, offering over 2 months exhibition time across the two events. Artists are initially asked to submit an expression of interest showcasing their portfolio via their online presence or alternatively via a portfolio document (PDF, video, doc etc.) Successful artists will then be asked to submit up to 6 framed works  (maximum 80x80cm inclusive of framing) for selection from which we commit to select at least 2 to hang  and 2 to hold in reserve  (i.e. provision of 4 framed pieces). Artists will also be able to provide up to 3 browser works  for display which should differ from the 4 selected/reserved works (i.e. 7 unique works in total across framed and browser work). If you primarily produce small/miniature work (less than 30x30cm) we may select up to the full 6 works for display/reserve at our discretion. Across these works, artists will also be able to provide as many editions of the print run as they wish to make available for immediate purchase as part of the event, with Artizan also taking orders up to the maximum number of the edition still available.
