The Ley in Winter
I recently moved to the small hamlet of Chipley between Ashburton and Newton Abbot. After a year of rigorous, traditional training in drawing from life I studied graphic design at the London College of Printing and, have worked as a printmaker and painter for 40 years. My inspiration is natural form particularly trees and plants. I draw and paint still life and floral subjects directly from life. For landscapes ,I also take photographs. I work in watercolour, acrylic and occasionally oils. My work is representational but modified by my own interpretation and feeling for the subject. Presently, I am excited by the Dartmoor landscape particularly the enchanting wooded valley.
