Sentinel

Alexandra is a fine artist and printmaker. Her initial training was at Chelsea School of Art, where she studied fine art and book illustration. She now practises in Torbay.

 

Focusing on wildlife and the natural world, she finds great inspiration in Devon with a particular love for rocky seascapes and the bird life that inhabits them. Bringing the beauty and variety of wildlife to the attention of people is important to her, as to understand and appreciate the natural world she feels is the first step to protecting it for the future.

 

Alexandra often combines her linoprints with collage, to produce unique signature prints, such as ‘Calm Before the Storm’ which was chosen for the Royal Academy Summer Show, 2022 and featured in their 2024 calendar. For her wood engravings she often works with boxwood blocks and loves the way engraving enhances her love of fine detail, enabling her to produce artwork on a small and endearing scale.
