Beth Munro is a printmaker based on the coast of Southeast Cornwall. She uses a diverse range printing processes to reflect her love of the sea, what lies beneath and our ability to make meaningful and necessary connections with the ocean. Beneath the surface series are hybrid monotypes using man made and organic materials found on her local beach, the prints evolve layer by layer, colour by colour. The act of printing becomes a conversation between the physical process, the reveal and the response. The work literally takes on a life of its own, forming a narrative within the marks, the textures and the forms.
