Gelli Plate Monoprint by Wojciech Jaguzny
Composition No.136
Wojciech Jaguzny
Wojciech Jaguzny is a Polish-born artist living and working in South Devon, England. His monotype prints explore abstraction through a dialogue between gesture, texture, and emotion. Influenced by the coastal landscape of his rural surroundings, Jaguzny seeks to capture not its literal form but its mood — the quiet energy of shifting weather, light, and terrain.
Working with layers of acrylic and enamel on printing plates, he embraces the element of chance inherent in the monotype process. Each print becomes a unique impression, a moment suspended between control and spontaneity. The resulting surfaces are raw, tactile, and atmospheric, reflecting both the physical and emotional resonance of place.
Jaguzny also works with film photography and holds a master’s degree in fine art from Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań, Poland. His practice invites viewers to experience landscape as feeling — distilled into texture, rhythm, and tone.
