Julia Finzel is a printmaker whose deep connection to animals began during her upbringing on a farm. Her practice focuses on etchings, photo-etchings, and mono-prints, capturing the essence of animals through expressive line and tone. Animal welfare is a central theme in both her life and work, and her prints often explore the narrative and interplay between humans and animals, reflecting curiosity and humour.

Working from her studio in Brixham, Julia is a member of Make SW and the Double Elephant Print Workshop in Exeter. She was also a longstanding member of the Dartington Print Workshop for over 25 years. Her work resonates with a sense of shared experience and connection between species, offering a thoughtful perspective on the natural world
