English Riviera Winter Open Exhibition 2019
The English Riviera Winter Open is back with nearly 100 artist and over 500 works of art as Artizan Collective celebrates the festive season with this annual showcase of South Devon creativity. Having relaunched the high street venue with Devon Open Studios 2019 in September, the Winter Open wraps up a successful year of headline exhibitions in this high profile venue. Running in two phases the exhibition will celebrate the Christmas period seven days a week until Christmas Eve before reopening in the New Year from 2nd - 18th January. Julia Finzel
Julia Finzel is a printmaker whose deep connection to animals began during her upbringing on a farm. Her practice focuses on etchings, photo-etchings, and mono-prints, capturing the essence of animals through expressive line and tone. Animal welfare is a central theme in both her life and work, and her prints often explore the narrative and interplay between humans and animals, reflecting curiosity and humour. Working from her studio in Brixham, Julia is a member of Make SW and the Double Elephant Print Workshop in Exeter. She was also a longstanding member of the Dartington Print Workshop for over 25 years. Her work resonates with a sense of shared experience and connection between species, offering a thoughtful perspective on the natural world
