White Amaryllis

I trained as a graphic artist and worked in advertising before joining a botanical drawing and watercolour painting class at the Royal Botanic Garden Edinburgh. Having always been interested in plants this was a great opportunity to learn about plants and paint wonderful specimens straight from the gardens.
I am fascinated by the amazing variety of structure and detail in flowers and particularly enjoy painting in watercolour.
Moving to Devon inspired me to start painting birds and I enjoy the walks and seeing them in their natural habitat so I paint both birds and flowers and love to exhibit both together. My painting incorporates detailed work as well as a personal freer style and I also experiment with acrylic and print to create less controlled pieces.
I regularly exhibit in the UK, give workshops locally and open my home each year for Devon Open Studios so I can show the variety of my workWhite Amaryllis on Egyptian Background
