On the Beach

I like to paint figures in oil and acrylics and also enjoy experimenting with mixed media in my still life paintings. My most recent work is developing a more expressive and less representational style but I do enjoy painting people. The German Expressionists and Scottish Colourists give me great inspiration.

Colour is what excites me most of all. I am lucky enough to have a studio in an idyllic rural setting near Sidbury. Visitors are welcome but best to contact me in advance for directions. I usually have a good range of
original paintings, prints and cards on display.

This is a figurative oil painitng. The scene is a family on a seaside holiday with the father
intent on digging while the rest of the family look out to sea. Nicely framed in a cream
coloured distressed wooden frame.
