Digital Art by Andy Walker
Simplon Pass, Switzerland
Andy Walker
Andy Walker is based in the Cotswolds and specialises in landscapes, seascapes and botanical studies. He became a professional artist following his selection for an exhibition in the Saatchi Gallery and Chelsea College of Arts, London in 2017.
His artwork, inspired by his photography, comprises intricate ‘mosaics’ of hand-drawn triangles, each one being painstakingly shaped, arranged and meticulously coloured. Produced using a stylus, and a tablet as a ‘digital canvas’, enables him to select precise hues and tones to achieve a vibrancy of colour and maximise the depth of field in each piece.
His work is available as Limited Edition Giclée Prints, using archival quality paper.
More recetly, Andy has been invited to be a featured artist for Lichfield Society of Artists at their forthcoming 75th Anniversary celebrations and selected and invited to participate in the EuropArt Fair in Amsterdam and the Florence Biennale in 2021.
The gently sloping Simplon Pass links Domodossola in North West Italy with Brig in South West Switzerland. Apart from the stunning surrounding scenery, the Swiss have described it as "among one of the most beautiful crossings in the alps".
While crossing the alps on a European road trip, I was beguiled by the gorgeous light, dramatic colours and cloud composition and was able to stop and capture the scene.
This artwork comprises 2,607 hand drawn Triangles.Created 2019
