Ceramic - Porcelain by Michele Vaudin
Small Coral Bud Vase
Michele Vaudin
Michele’s family background is deeply rooted in scuba diving, both recreational and professional, and her passion for coral and marine life sits at the very heart of her ceramic practice. The fragile, diverse beauty of reef systems provides endless inspiration, with her porcelain pieces serving as a tribute to their intricate complexity.
Using a variety of clays, ranging from delicate white porcelain to rugged black stoneware clays, Michele’s work spans expressive artworks and practical wheel-thrown forms, incorporating hand-built elements drawn from ocean life.
From gnarly barnacles to delicate corals and seaweeds, the interplay between ceramic form and marine subject offers endless possibilities.
The smallest of a trio (large, medium and small) of porcelain bud vases, decorated with corals and seaweeds, made of the same clay.
Transparent glaze on the internal walls deems these both waterproof and functional. Images shows pieces displayed as a trio, these vases priced individually.
