Sunrise Over Harbour

Katherine Taylor is a UK-based ceramic artist working primarily with stoneware, exploring form, surface, and material presence through hand-built vessels. Her practice balances respect for traditional making with a contemporary approach to colour, mark-making, and surface design. 

 

She uses vibrant, expressive glazes, embracing subtle variation and evidence of the hand, allowing material and process to shape each piece. The vessels are tactile and decorative, inviting interaction and contemplation. Self-taught, Katherine developed her practice after leaving a twenty-year career in the NHS and holds a degree in English Literature, which informs her sensitivity to narrative, rhythm, and balance. She has exhibited in various UK galleries.
