'I don't intentionally position my work within a specific genre. There are links that I discover, and elements that I recognise as having a place, or that may have an influence on my work, or on how I see things. Work often stems from thought associations with specific places and environments, where a cognitive 'map' is formed during early stages of connection with a physical site. I am not concerned with reproducing an 'obvious visible' or a specific narrative, but an emerging invisible', that comes from the act of painting and drawing, and the dialogue that develops between the paint and painter.Senses of colour, space and place of the Torbay Coastline
