Monotype by Anita Reynolds
Guardians of the Moor II
Anita Reynolds
Anita Reynolds explores the deep connection between place and the human condition. Her works focus on scars and features caused by previous habitation and industry, with nature then subsequently healing the landscape.
When producing her prints Anita divides her time between working on site, a combination of walking, sketching and printmaking and developing ideas back in the studio. She finds when working outside there is an excitement that enables her to make vigorous and spontaneous marks. These are a result of both an emotional, as well as visual, response to her location. Rapidly changing light and weather conditions often require Anita to work quickly, forcing her to focus on only the essential details. Once back in the studio she uses the studies and her memory of place to develop multi-layered monotypes, collagraphs and hybrid prints.
