Entangled in Waste
Coral Rogers
personally work with materials like ceramics or wool, focusing mostly on 3D items and making 2D come to life. I use the materials like clay and yarn to make pieces with deeper meanings which most often are not noticed at a first glance. Before working on my pieces directly I plan out sketches of how I want to look and study what it is I want to focus on, an example being I learnt the anatomy and different species of an octopus before I made a ceramic piece of it. This allowed me to figure out details of how their lives are affected or any negatives I can bring to light. I use my art to focus on the negative effect people have on marine life habitats and animals. What I show through my art makes people see the cause and effect of pollution and their ignorance.
