Angela Holmes
Angela Holmes is a sculptor who has enjoyed exhibiting outdoor stone and ceramic works in Delamore Gardens over several years. Currently she focuses on the creation of smaller scale sculptural ceramics. The fluidity of clay and possibilities to construct rather than reduce material, set different challenges. Her works on display also explore carving into thick slabs of leathery hard clay, echoing patterns previously carved into stone but executed in a more lyrical manner. She continues to draw inspiration from her coastal and moorland surroundings which inform the organic and dynamic qualities of her work.
Angela works from her home in Teignmouth and frequently exhibits in TAAG, Teignmouth Arts Centre. She is a member of Southwest Sculptors, Make SW in Bovey Tracey and “Granite Elements” moorland artists group.
