I am a Devon based artist and I have spent most of my life living and working in the county.
Living in a rural environment is very important to me; the open fields, wild moorland and changeable seas of Devon constantly provide inspiration and motivation for my work.
After obtaining a City and Guilds at Newton Abbot College of art, I trained in illustration at St Martin's. Later, I returned to study for a B.A (Hons) in Art and Design and in 2000 obtained an M.A in fine Art at Plymouth University.
My practice is focused on the beaches and coves near where I live, and also on Dartmoor, which is always a rich and variable source of inspiration.I love exploring seasonal changes with the drama of weather and the changes in light that it brings. I work in mixed media, mainly ink and gouache on paper with added marks from whatever comes to hand.
