Artisan Tea Cup and Saucer

Polly is a Dorset based ceramicist who works with porcelain. She creates elegant table ware and decorative pieces which are both thrown and handbuilt.

Her love for the West Country landscape is reflected in her work where she uses foraged materials and words to create texture and form highlighting our oneness with nature and our surroundings. She uses a soft glaze palette of blues, greens, greys and pinks inspired by the colours of the ever-changing skies of Dorset.

The physicality of making and throwing on the wheel and the meditative qualities that the process evokes are as important to her as the finished pieces. Polly also shares her passion for pottery by teaching adults with learning difficulties where she enjoys seeing the healing power of people working with their hands and connecting with the earth.
