My practice is embedded in the knowledge that in a moment, a brief indefinite interval of time, everything can change; there will always be a last kiss. This drives me to linger when tender moments arise and notice when connections and disconnections occur. I make oil paintings, mostly on linen canvases, in a process that makes and removes marks, overlaying imagery, and revealing figures and the emotion of a moment. Although there is often a sense of immediacy and looseness in some of my current works, there are also more formal elements to my practice and my paintings. I make both large and small works, often veering to the miniature. I am fascinated in the perception of preciousness and how it becomes entwined in objects. I often accompany my paintings with small sculptural elements.

English Riviera Summer Open 2024
For the first time in two years, we can confidently say this won’t be our last Summer Open as we're delighted to announce we've secured our home at Fleet Walk, Torquay! And as well as this, 2024 marks 10 years since we established our first gallery venue on the English Riviera, so this Summer is the perfect chance for us to celebrate both these milestones! Our Summer Open is now a well-established event on our annual calendar having originally started purely by chance several years ago. Each year the event sees us build on previous shows as we welcome old and new artists to Torbay for our personal homage to the great institution that is the Royal Academy Summer Show. Starting at the beginning of July and running through until 1st September, the exhibition promises to be as rich and diverse as in previous years.
