David Jones
David grew up and worked in the potteries in Staffordshire, undergoing a comprehensive 5-year training program at Josiah Wedgwood from 1985 as a model maker/sculptor and then after working for many world renowned ceramic companies mainly in design and development, helping to make ideas become a working reality. After moving to Devon, he continued his career in ceramic design, model making and also as a creative developer, always looking to push ceramics to their boundaries and creating a wow factor within the industrial sector. having set aside time to start producing and developing his own work and becoming regular exhibitor around Devon, he is using many techniques including hand building and throwing, whilst using glazes and applications that only enhances his produces he creates.

Maker Takeovers
Following a resounding success in their inaugural year, the Maker Takeovers return to Delamore Arts for 2026. This dynamic series of rotating mini pop-up artist spaces quickly became a favourite for visitors in 2025, offering an ever-changing showcase of the South West's creative talent. Hosted in the Stable Block, the Maker Takeovers ensure that no two visits to Delamore are ever the same. Throughout the month of May, we present a fresh line-up of artisans every few days, creating a vibrant, "micro-fair" atmosphere. This yearās curation features an eclectic mix of disciplines, including: ā¢Fine Craft: Jewellery makers, leather workers, and mosaic artists. ā¢Contemporary Form: Wire sculptors, ceramicists, and woodturners. ā¢Traditional Media: Printmakers and painters working in a variety of styles. What makes the Takeovers truly special is the opportunity for direct connection. Unlike a traditional gallery setting, these spaces allow you to meet the creators behind the work. Visitors are invited to: ā¢Watch Live Demonstrations: See the technical skill and patience required to create handmade treasures. ā¢Hear the Stories: Learn about the inspirations and processes that define each artist's practice. Nestled within the picturesque Stable Courtyard at Delamore, the Maker Takeovers form part of Artizan Collective's activity, alongside The Kiln Room ,the Contemporary British Printmakers exhibitions, the Old Workshop and new for 2026, the Courtyard Shop. Whether you are looking for a statement piece for your home or a small, handmade gift, we invite you to explore, connect, and celebrate the extraordinary craftsmanship that defines our region.
