“My paintings and drawings are a response to my surroundings and my place within them – the beautiful landscape of Devon where I live, the excitement of travelling to other places, the natural objects that are precious to each place. I am currently working, amongst others, a series on elegantly decaying boats, and wave paintings made on the beach using the action of the sea.”‘Returning to Nature’ Series exploring the often beautiful process of decay when boats are abandoned and past their days on the water. The ‘Marie Claire’ was being gradually dismantled, and had a melancholy elegance with its glassy reflection in the canal.
