Peter Blakesley
Peter is an established artist based in the West Country. His early work was oil based, but he retrained in Watercolours and until 2016 he almost exclusively preferred the spontaneity of this medium over others.
However, he has since rediscovered his love of oils and now enjoys all mediums of expressing his art work.Peter has been inspired by many artists but his own unique style is always evident, particularly through his delicate use of water colour washes, and through the looseness of his work.
"I like to experiment with different subjects, and enjoy reflecting not only the beauty of the countrysidearound where I live in Devon, but also my travels to other countries. Painting on location is always special"
Peter has exhibited across the South West, and has won many accolades in local exhibitions. In 2016 his portrait of his brother won the "Best Painting in Show" at the Torbay Guild of Artists Exhibition in Torquay.
He was also a finalist in the Devon Life Landscape Artist of 2016.Watercolour
