Stoneware Ceramic by Angela Holmes
Rising Tide
Angela Holmes
I am a sculptor, better known for abstract, tactile stone works; clay has been a means to explore sculptural ideas and to create maquettes for longer works.
Recently, challenged by the weight and installation of large works, I made a return journey into ceramics, enjoying its immediacy, diversity and manageable dimensions.
Retaining a sculptural emphasis, I make high-fired stoneware pieces for outdoors & indoors. Periodically I give classes in creative ceramics workplace, "Clay Door Studio" In Chudleigh - so named because it invites people to ?open a door" and discover themselves through art.
