Parallel World
Heather Mason
I have a background in both the arts and science. I trained as a painter at Winchester School of Art, then switched my focus to photography for many years especially when working as a psychotherapist.
Recently, since retiring, I have restarted my painting practice and studio. Themes that continue to interest me are big questions relating to the nature of life, humanity, beginnings and endings, the origins of life and the universe, and fundamental principles.
Recently I have been captivated by water with a fixation on reflections in water and the nature of the water surface i.e. the ripples and movement. This is mirrored in my process of application of paint and media and choice of surface or support, whereby I constantly endeavour to reach a place which somehow simulates the transitional, dynamic structure of the wave.
