Place has a strong influence on my work. The interesting characters, and wildlife I encounter now along the seafront, childhood memories of horses, London nightlife and fashion all inhabit my art (often together). My two black cat “mewses” also often creep in! I frequently work in print, mostly linocut. 

Originally from Hampshire after many years living in Camden, London I moved to Torbay. Returning to my first love, art after a long career in housing and social care, I was awarded a masters (distinction) in illustration by the University of Falmouth in 2024 and am a member of Devon Art Society and Teignmouth Arts Action Group and co-founder of BayCAT (Community Art Torbay) 

I like to explore unexpected connections between people and place, the natural world, animals, and folklore. I’m interested in how the past, legend and nature can inspire us to imagine better futures. 

Pencil, pen, and ink sketches frequently serve as visual research for linocut, cyanotype, or tapestry.’ I am drawn to more tactile materials embracing the constraints they impose and how incidental marks can influence the outcome’. My art includes, both figurative and imaginary detail. I like to mix the real with the unreal.
