Isolated

I was keen to see the vast wilderness of the Arctic before it all disappears, so in the summer I took a boat trip to the Disko Bay in Western Greenland to see what was left of the icebergs. It was a serene experience being on the boat at night, all quite apart from the noise of the ice moving or falling into the sea to melt (the sun does not dip below the horizon in July, so it is light all the time. The images I am submitting try to capture that special lighting and the moment when an Iceberg does start to crack and fall into the sea.
