Ink/pastels make a cracked surface over vintage maps, and the reclaimed painted frames remind her of the boats sea-weathered hulls on the Quay outside. Maps/star charts are also incorporated into her monoprints.
She exhibits her work in Devon and the Scilly Isles. She was recently featured in 'Coast' magazine.
Her work feels like ?swatches' or sections of a larger pattern of boats - hence the name 'wallpaper boats'.1920's Exe map, marine blue ink, on pastel & pastel. Abstract pattern of boats with crackled ink surface. Framed in a reclaimed painted frame (reminding me of sea-weathered boat's hulls.)
