Invasive Species III
Jan Alison Edwards and Ophélie Pauchet
As a conceptual artist my main interest lays with the environment and humankinds polarised relationship with the natural world. Using the medium appropriate to the concept , often textiles, ceramics, plant fibre, or recycled paper to address issues of the natural environment, initiating a dialogue not only with the art work , but with nature and the onlooker. I have for many years been concerned about our use of plastics particularly containers holding personal and domestic cleaning materials which paradoxically pollute the land our homes and the sea. My fear and hate of plastic containers has continued as the use has grown. The sight of a landscape, country side or beach contaminated with these vessels is clear for all to see.
