Working in recycled paper-pulp, Nyk Pimm-Smith creates atmospheric lighting sculptures and furniture. As a carpenter and woodworker by trade, Nyk strongly believes that the hand is the best tool in which to engage with his materials, allowing the uniqueness and patina to speak for itself. He draws on his Danish heritage and background in bespoke housebuilding, by employing the same sense of utility and simplicity of form that infuses Danish design practice.

 

Since beginning his journey back in 2018, Nyk’s work has been exhibited at The Chelsea Design Centre’s lighting Design Week in 2022, Ecco Trading London store 2021 to present, Studio Nine Totnes Design Pop-Up 2021, The Angel Gallery Totnes 2021 & Artwork Exeter in 2020.
