My only consistency is my inconsistency. I have experimented with many different styles and paints but due to having the attention span of a gnat I mainly work with acylics. The tools I use are varied, such items as kitchen implements, rags, sponges but often as not, anything that might create the effect I am trying to generate. Oh, I do paint a lot with brushes/pallet knives (more consistency) and my hands (more fun).
I might be inspired by the world around me but I always paint what I see in my head and from my imagination. I am most contented in creating organically generated abstract works sometimes painted in a frenzy and other times over many iterations. Nearly always whilst enveloped in loud music. (I wear headphones so I don’t annoy the neighbours!) I have won awards for abstract work and innovation.
Although some of my canvases are framed (only ever handmade from recycled or discarded timber) many are unframed but ready to hang as I prefer the look of paintings sitting as flat against the wall and not dominated by huge chunky frames.
I am a member of the Torbay Guild of Artists
