Ordinary is in Extra-ordinary in my worlds, ordinary people who are all extraordinary are visualised and recognised. Place is unrestricted, some of my figures are in an unexpected environment in which the past and the present are juxtaposed in an unexpected way. My figures are an imprint, a moment in time, I try and capture something fleeting and impermanent.

I love the physicality of making a silkscreen print. There is an alchemy in bringing all the ingredients together and making the print. I’m interested in connections...... between people and nature, past and present, imagined and seen. Seeing the beauty and extraordinary nature of the ordinary.

The figures in this print are my grandmother and mother. Both significant figures in my life for different reasons. Not only did the making of this image feel like something of a homage to them as my mother and grandmother This image made me see more clearly something about their relationship as mother and daughte
