Dartmoor Dawn
Jim Doran
After 35 years of practise I find that I have barely scatched the surface of this thing called Art but that's half the attraction. Art is certainly about the journey and not so much the destination and what a fascinating journey it is.
There was a stillness up on the moor, no sound no movement,
though very dramatic none the less. Now, as night approached I was
about to see another drama unfold right in front of me this was a
drama of a very different kind.Stay on Dartmoor for a while and chances are you will be rewarded with a beautifull sunset, camp out overnight and you could see a glorious sunrise this is quite literally day turning to night and back again, it is more than just impressive, what forces are at work here ?, while watching this you become aware of the magic, the drama of Dartmoor.
Up on the moor I felt that I was a very small part of the vastness, this time I had the best seat in the house for one of nature’s most majestic performances.
