Watercolour Pencil on Watercolour Paper by Melissa Milne

Melissa Milne
The urge to create and to loose myself in the play of colour and light has always been with me. Allowing the image, whether pictorial or abstract to unfold itself, my hand and eye following the lines, shapes, textures of what wants to appear. There is a playfulness and childlike quality which I find myself drawn to. My 2D work is mostly in pencil and watercolour pencil, allowing the control I like and the opportunity to dip in and out easily as family life requires.
I like to think the work I make reflects something of the unseen, heartfelt forces which permeate our world and beyond, creating images which speak of our intrinsic connection with the ‘more than human world’.
