Acrylic and Mixed Media by Theresa Henning
A Bed of Blue
Theresa Henning
I currently work in a variety of media, using every sort of mark-making tool I can lay my hands on, often it is my hands! There is a new energy and urgency about my work. I want to share what I see, in the unique way in which I see it. To inspire the love and reverence for the natural world which I feel, in others. I am still a painter of nature/place albeit increasingly abstracted from nature, rather than representational.
I become engrossed in the process of bringing a piece of work to completion. The push and pull, problem-solving and balancing of simplicity and depth becomes like a dance. When working on a series of pieces it becomes almost literally that in a physical way, moving around between the works.
A close up, insect eye view, of a blue mop head hydrangea. An interpretation drawing attention to it's vigorous strength as well as it's fragile beauty
