Chris Pitman SWAc
Following a career in Architectural and structural design Chris found the freedom of drawing and painting without the constraints of the design studio exhilarating. He has slowly expanded his horizons from the foundations of his early photorealistic paintings of the South West and now enjoys full freedom of expression encompassing the human form, Portraiture and Abstraction. Chris has exhibited extensively, including exhibiting with the Royal Society of Marine Artists, the South West Academy of Fine and Applied Arts and twice at the Winners Exhibition of the SAA Artist of the Year. Chris is a member of the South West Academy of Fine and Applied Arts (SWAc) and is President of Teignmouth Art Society.

We’re sure we are not alone in having been particularly appreciative of the place we call home after the past few months, being locked down by the sea feels like slightly less of a hardship when we have been out for our daily exercise. In this group show, to be held at the Artizan Collective on Fleet Walk, we welcome 9 artists whose work is inspired by their surroundings and places that they have visited. Creative Coastal celebrates the seaside scenes that have offered some serenity to those who have the privilege of enjoying their own small part of the British coastline.
