Ann Burnham's work is inspired by the textures and patterns she encounters in the landscape. She is particularly drawn to the beauty of rolling hills, winding hedgerow lanes, and the dramatic coastline of Devon. Whether it's the way the wind shapes a tree, the path leading into the distance, or the physical experience of being in a place, nature often sparks her creative process. Ann seeks to highlight the intricate patterns in the natural world - those that are easily overlooked or quickly forgotten.

Working primarily in reduction linocut, Ann’s slightly graphic approach to printmaking allows her to accentuate these natural patterns and shapes. Her process begins with sketches and photographs, which she transforms into layered designs for her prints. The technique of reduction linocut, with its method of gradually cutting away sections of the plate, suits her approach perfectly, as she builds up colours in layers with each stage. She fully immerses herself in this detailed process.

Ann exhibits regularly, and her work is held in private collections both in the UK and internationally. Her prints are permanently displayed at Greenwich Printmakers Gallery (London), Wychwood Gallery (Oxford), New Ashgate Gallery (Farnham), Sea Pictures Gallery (Suffolk), and Hancock Gallery (Newcastle). She has also exhibited at the Bankside RE Open, Society of Women Artists, and the Royal Society of British Artists at the Mall Galleries. Additionally, Ann was a prizewinner in the Inspired by competition at the V&A Museum.
