The Custard Cream Town

I am both an artist in kiln formed and stained glass and an academic in the field of media and communications studies. Each practice informs the other and especially my interest in exploring memories, sentimental attachment, nostalgia, and emotions. Recording the lives of people who are less often remembered in history and celebrating the landscape of our industrial past are themes of my present work.

 

I’m Chair of the Just Glass artists collective and co-editor of their first book Just Glass Brought to Light (2022) which celebrates the work of 44 artists, all of whom began their journey in glass in adult education classes. I have published numerous academic works since 2003
