Myra Wishart
Myra has been a professional ceramicist/tutor for over 25 years. Her work sells in Galleries and Exhibitions in the UK and is in private collections throughout Europe and America/Asia. She attended the British Glass Biennale in 2004 and was inspired by the whole weekend and in particular the Glass Exhibition. She then went onto study Glass Casting at Westminster College gaining a PDC and also specialist courses at Richmond Art College. She has been producing lost wax cast glass bowls and also fused and slumped pieces as well as wall panels. She makes frit wafers and sometimes uses metal inclusions e.g., silver, copper. The pieces can have several layers and firings producing a textured surface. Her floral designs are stylised, and each piece is individual. She is a member of Kent Potters Association Contemporary Glass Society, Just Glass Society, Scottish Glass Society.
