Sanctuaries
Megan Ogden
My practice is all about the narrative, what one image means to me, will have potentially a different impact on another. My images work as a series, aiming to open up a new perspective to the viewer on the subject of focus. My aim is for viewers to take something new away from looking at my work.
Nothing compares to physical human experience. Information about a place gained from different sources creates knowledge, but until you enter into a space, your knowledge is only formed from reason. This, according to the likes of Plato, is a lesser experience.
A building’s form usually aligns to its purpose by visually complying to a set of rules. These rules create responses in the viewer, giving away its telos. This body of work is set to challenge that idea.
‘Sanctuaries’ brings together an imagining from personal experience of spaces with separate visual identities, that, when viewed together have the possibility of being of the same telos: a sanctuary.Photography, Giclee Printed
