I am a glass engraver (an Associate Fellow and former Chairman of the Guild of Glass Engravers) and I mostly use a micro drill with diamond and stone burrs. I work on clear glass and lead crystal and also sometimes on multi layered coloured glass which I commission to have blown for me. My techniques are mainly intaglio or cameo engraving or line engraving. I work on commissioned pieces as large as church windows and as small as paperweights. I am inspired by nature and the patterns in nature but also by myths and legends. Some of my work is also influenced by a love of calligraphy

 

I love fine detail and intricate designs. Recently I have become fascinated by geometric designs inspired by geometry in nature and the reflections they make in optical crystal blocks.
