Mandy Freeguard was introduced to Lino Printing following an illness which had left her house bound for a while. She was looking for a new challenge, and a distraction.

The new skills were a journey of learning, of trial and error. Just as the Lino Printing process is like a journey, working out the design, the carving of the Lino, inking and printing, and the final piece.

Mandy lives in Cornwall, and the County and its varied landscapes are a constant source of inspiration, the sea and the rugged moor. She also has an interest in Ancient History and explores its relationship with the landscape of today.

Printmaking was then and remains a real Art Therapy for her to get totally immersed in the journey, the process. A chance to escape the struggles of everyday life.
