I have a strong creative streak and have been making things for as long as I can remember.
Most of my working career was spent in the field of science & technology until redundancy presented me with the opportunity to spend more time on the arts. However, I still retain a strong interest in the sciences.
I re-trained and then started my own business making stained glass windows, and this led me further into drawing and painting, going on to study for a Diploma in Art & Design during which I also discovered a love of photography which continues to strongly influence my paintings.
I paint big subjects on a very small scale - 'paintings for small spaces'. Although tending towards the abstract, the paintings are largely inspired by the natural world and by satellite imagery of the earth and space.work mainly in watercolour, adding a variety of media and materials which allow me to achieve a range of interesting & unusual effects. Close inspection of the paintings will reveal a multitude of textures and colour shifts that are unique and unreproducible.
The paintings are best viewed at close quarters to fully appreciate the exquisite detail within.
