Originally from Newcastle, Mark trained in Fashion & Design at Central St. Martins, London and graduated in 2000. 

Mark Bell’s bold, explosive works capture energy, movement, fluid lines and form mostly using acrylic paint on canvas but sometimes watercolours too.

A love of fabrics and pattern is ever present in Mark’s richly textured works. By building layers and mixing vibrant colours on the canvas, the movement, atmosphere and light of the subject and each work develops organically as Mark paints intuitively.        

 Mark’s painting process is fast and immersive, and his subjects emerge as powerful and striking reimagined depictions.

Mark now lives in Brixham in Devon where he also has a studio.
