Oil by Annie Musgrove
Carn Gloose
Annie Musgrove
Annie Musgrove lives on the Somerset-Devon border working mostly in oil, adding layers to build up a depth to her work in which she captures the elemental nature of the rural landscape around her. She collects information about a place by walking, observing and just being still. She is fascinated by the continuously changing weather, the moods in the landscape and the way light changes colours and illuminates’ patches of water. The south coasts of Devon and Cornwall are often explored in her work as well as the remote landscapes of Exmoor near her home.
Annie studied at Newlyn School of Art. Her work is exhibited in galleries and exhibitions (SW Academy Exeter, Thelma Hubert, ACE Arts and others) in Devon and Somerset and is in private collections in the UK and overseas.
A further selection of her work will also be shown at The Old Brick Workshop in Wellington during Somerset Art Weeks and her Lockdown print project will be shown at the Museum of Rural Life in Glastonbury from 18th September.
