I am a multi-hyphenate artist and mental health ambassador.
My practice questions common assumptions and stereotypes regarding mental (ill)health and those experiencing it. To do this I use personal stories, both my own and others, expressed through a variety of media.
Having become a mother in 2020, whilst struggling with an eating disorder, my current practice seeks to change the narrative on maternal mental health and improve support for mother’s struggling with disordered eating.
I take autobiographical photographs capturing the beauty and challenge of mothering, for display in both artistic and academic and medical settings, including NHS conferences and meetings.
My developing photography practice builds on my recent practical support from the EU Funded, London creative network artist development programme, and follows success in other artistic media; installation, etching, drawing and performance.
After completing degrees in clinical neuroscience at Oxford and Kings College London, I trained as an artist at Central Saint Martins (MA Art & Science) and won the 2019 Art & Science prize. Since then, I have exhibited in the UK and internationally, including at CERN, Tate Modern and Somerset House.
