Artist
Sandra Lissenden
Sandra has spent many years in London and the Home Counties. The West Country surroundings evoke great inspiration with its multifarious coastline and countryside. Also with her frequent travels to France and Spain has created a great portfolio. Her interests lay in light and atmosphere, in places and objects. Movement and light are ethereal but can evoke the deeper memory of the initial visual impact. To explore, expand and develop what is within the subject, colour and texture to excite and move the viewer. Sandra has exhibited locally, S.W.A. nationally and internationally. Exhibition Record
Makers Takeovers
Following a resounding success in their inaugural year, the Maker Takeovers return to Delamore Arts for 2026. This dynamic series of rotating mini pop-up artist spaces quickly became a favourite for visitors in 2025, offering an ever-changing showcase of the South West's creative talent. Hosted in the Stable Block, the Maker Takeovers ensure that no two visits to Delamore are ever the same. Throughout the month of May, we present a fresh line-up of artisans every few days, creating a vibrant, "micro-fair" atmosphere. This year’s curation features an eclectic mix of disciplines, including: •Fine Craft: Jewellery makers, leather workers, and mosaic artists. •Contemporary Form: Wire sculptors, ceramicists, and woodturners. •Traditional Media: Printmakers and painters working in a variety of styles. What makes the Takeovers truly special is the opportunity for direct connection. Unlike a traditional gallery setting, these spaces allow you to meet the creators behind the work. Visitors are invited to: •Watch Live Demonstrations: See the technical skill and patience required to create handmade treasures. •Hear the Stories: Learn about the inspirations and processes that define each artist's practice. Nestled within the picturesque Stable Courtyard at Delamore, the Maker Takeovers form part of Artizan Collective's activity, alongside The Kiln Room ,the Contemporary British Printmakers exhibitions, the Old Workshop and new for 2026, the Courtyard Shop. Whether you are looking for a statement piece for your home or a small, handmade gift, we invite you to explore, connect, and celebrate the extraordinary craftsmanship that defines our region.
