Holly Magdalene Scott
Holly Magdalene Scott is a printmaker based in the picturesque village of Middleton in Teesdale, County Durham.
A self-taught printmaker specialising in relief printmaking, she is known for her well-observed, sensitive linocuts of birds and animals. Her process is immersive and consuming. She spends much time outdoors; wandering, observing, and documenting wildlife. These experiences inform her writing, ink drawings and linocuts.
Holly’s prints are created without a press, printed by hand in small, varied editions, imbuing each one with the unique character of its subject. Through careful observation and rendering of detail, Holly’s work seeks to elevate the overlooked and highlight beauty in the familiar.
