The Dream

 

My latest body of work was started at the beginning of lockdown, which has helped me make sense of the shifts going on around the world and reflect on what is meaningful in life. It has given me time to delve into the art process and experimentation to capture the mood, energy and emotion experienced.

 

I work mainly in acrylic and mixed media on canvas and wood panels. I utilise various methods of layering, mark-making and piecing together fragments, then scraping, sanding, washing and peeling off – metaphorically delving deeper to discover what lies beneath and our hidden strengths. A process of endless adding and subtracting until a sense of balance is found.

 

My current work has an expressive abstract quality that invites the viewer to project their own interpretation and meaning onto each piece.
