Oil by Kay Ware
I have always lived and worked in Devon and have a great appreciation for our coastline and countryside.
Mainly self-taught as an artist, I enjoy experimenting with palette knives, brushes and rags to create interesting textures in my work. I use water mixable oil paints, often in a limited colour palette.
I draw inspiration from the sea and clouds and their ever changing moods and I love the way that the light, the time of day and the weather can change a scene and evoke different emotions. I take numerous photographs to inform my work as well as working from my sketches.
