Over the Hills

Predominantly self-taught, I am a expressionist landscape artist working mainly in acrylics and metal leaf on canvas.  Based in my studio in the south east of England my inspiration is taken from the seasonal transitions of the near and far landscapes that move me. I utilize the natural world as a way of communicating emotion, examining the concept of self and our ever-changing place in the world around us.
 
 Both escapism and self-reflection are central to my work, a conflict of peace and unease, light and darkness. I am excited to be currently working on larger scale statement pieces; with a background in interior design, the importance of contrast, colour and proportion are an integral part of my process.
